Dental Health Coach ™© - Meaning Behind the Symbol       The symbol's design captures the spirit of the generative power produced by a collaborative relationship in which two or more people come together in the pursuit of a health objective. This relationship has a goal setter (the patient) and a coach (the dentist and team). The elements making up the symbol are the wings of the medical profession caduceus and a tooth (traditional symbol for dentistry) shaped to show connectivity of two hearts bridged by the professional relationship. The symbol is vibrant and uplifting indicating the foundational importance dental health has to overall wellness and vitality.          The Dental Health Coach™ seeks to change their (dentist/hygienist) relationship with the patient and the relationship the patient has to dentistry. Although not easily described, this requires discarding the traditional diagnostic/repair model. This model is one in which identifying and repairing outcomes of a disease process are the primary focus. An orientation shift occurs in which causal forces are explored and communicated as a primary focus with repair as support for reaching health objectives. The symbol captures positive energy related to preventive care and education versus negative energy that can result from cyclical repair of disease outcomes. Repairing to a "moment of health" is not the objective of The Dental Health Coach™. However, it is integral to patient empowerment that the The Dental Health Coach™ posesses the skills to treat to the desired level of health the patient wishes to achieve. The Dental Health Coach™ Team may extend to specialists as necessary to support the 4 Levels of health from a dental orientation. Healthy Foundation (perio, gums, bone, etc...)
